“I did London Voices with my son in Ham House and I loved the project and place. I live near Ham House but it always felt like a ‘Big House’ to me. Now, whenever I have visitors from my country I take them to Ham House.” Participants, at Ham House.

Partnerships have been at the heart of the success for the London Voices project.

Partnerships between a local extended school and their nearby National Trust property formed the backbone of the project. The schools recruited families to take part in creative arts projects. Find out more about how this partnership worked here.

Partnerships between Local Authorities and local colleges have also been formed to support the recruitment of volunteers and the provision of wider family learning at the properties.

Families have also become involved at the properties as volunteers. Family volunteering has developed at all four properties in different ways: as advisors on interpretation, litter pickers and tree planters and as creative activity assistants.
