Training

“Some of what we talked about in the training session suddenly clicked into place when I was talking to a family. It was only then that I really understood.” Volunteer, Ham House

Families tell us the best part about visiting National Trust properties is the people they meet along the way. London Voices worked with staff and volunteers at our four properties to make sure we always provide a warm friendly and enjoyable visit for families.

Training has been essential to achieving this – both informal “watch it and see” training and formal training sessions. Over the three years our training focused on the following themes: Creativity, Family Learning, New Audiences, Diversity, Positive Behaviour Management.

See the Resource Bank on the Creating Family Charters page for some of the highlights of our training programme.

Training Films

Training of staff and volunteers has been essential to the success of the project. The training sessions were designed for staff and volunteers to work together, have discussions and social time.

The following short films were made to be used in a training sessions to promote debate and discussion. The films feature the voices of families, staff, volunteers and artists involved with London Voices. Each film has a discussion question at the end which you might like to explore in your own setting.

You can view each film full screen by clicking on the four arrows in the bottom right hand corner of each clip.
